Using a Bench for Staging Area, many UD features double doors with lights in shelter area of porch, 6’ from front door. The best UD Option for Staging
Outside Staging area: I cannot stress enough the importance of a staging area by entrances and exits.
Having a designated place outside by the front entrance where you can put things down, such as coats, keys, books, groceries, baby carriers, tools etc. This is essential for safety and ease while entering a home.
I like to use a bench that doubles as a spot to rest, a place to put on shoes, a place to leave stuff to be picked up by friends or a place to watch the birds!
Use your imagination and personalize this staging area. Color and function will dictate what it might look like. I have used benches, a single seat chair, and a heavy duty box.
Whatever you select or design make sure the object can hold a bit of weight. Sitting on the floor is not the UD option I am going for here.
The best UD option for Staging Outside Fantastic outside staging area. This bench with the decorative pillows give interest and reflects the person living here. Moving bench to the side allows turning on porch. If necessary, flower pots could be moved allowing more space on porch. Great UD design with smooth path , shelter in place, adequate turning radius and a nice staging area. The path curves as well…….a bonus.
Outside Staging Area
Covered Porch with bench which is 6’ from front door, large porch for turning and lights. Best UD option for Staging.
Outside Staging Area
This chair serves as a staging area but the porch is too small. We can do better.
Very efficient staging bench
Sheltered porch area. The bench takes up very little space so there is plenty of room to have the desired 6’ turning radius. Lighting? Better UD option for staging.
These 2 Adirondack chairs are great staging pieces. In fact you can see the left chair is being used to hold a package. Things may slide down the chair seat but that might be the only draw back. Chairs are sheltered under the huge porch, 6’ from door. Best option UD staging.
Nestled in this covered porch is a wooden bench great for staging. Best option for staging along with many UD features, zero entry, curve path, pathlights, door interesting! Shelter in place.
What would you put on the front porch as your staging area?
